YWC Invites Solidarity with Detained Russian Band

Members of the YWC stand in solidarity for the release of Maria Alyokhina, Yekaterina Santsevich and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova who are currently in pre-trial detention at least until April 21 (maybe 24th!), when the consideration of their case will be continued. They have been held under a suspicion that they were involved in a peaceful protest with a group known as ‘Pussy Riot’. The women deny these charges.

From their site, "LET’S DO A GLOBAL ACTION DAY WITH MANY PROTESTS ALL AROUND THE WORLD! BE CREATIVE! BE SMART! BE INDEPENDENT! SHARE THIS EVENT, INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!

LET’S GO!!!
Pussy Riot:
“Meanwhile, the girls, who are accused of involvement in our group are still continuing a hunger strike, now head of prison refuses to provide them with personal items, books and linens.[...]
But our team is not going to give up and stop their activities. The new song is already written. Now we are monitoring the situation and choose the right moment to speak, until all the forces we go to the arrested girls.[...]
We believe that every person is very ill in prison (or jail), regardless of their gender identity, the presence or absence of children. We are against the sexist approach to the Advocacy of political prisoners and ask for help all concerned to change the preventive measure to two people who find themselves behind bars now, regardless of their media fame, gender and whether they are mothers or not.[...]
Thanks to everyone who supports us and helps in the protection of prisoners in our business.
P.S. Beautiful pictures of the arrested girls are not going to give, they are worthy of attention and protection regardless of their appearance.
With warm greetings, Pussy Riot.”
